I know I always say this at the beginning of every term but I cannot believe how quickly the holiday becomes a distant memory once you have been back at school for a couple of days. I had a wonderful holiday and actually went away twice but those trips do feel like a very long time ago. Anyhow, at least the weather, another favourite topic of mine, has been kind to us and let us hope that we have fabulous weather to see us through the summer term. Everyone always seems to have more energy when the sun comes out.

Although the PTA still does not have a chair person to organise it we have had some people come forward to help organise the Summer Fayre. This week we held a meeting and it was decided to hold the Summer Fayre on Saturday, July 4th. Some more information will be sent out soon to inform you of what is planned, but for it to be a success, more volunteers will still have to come forward to help run the event. PTA representatives in your class may soon be approaching you to ask if you can spare an hour to either set up, help run a stall or clear up afterwards. Remember, if people do not come forward these kind of events may have to disappear forever and it would be a shame if your child missed out on memorable events that help to enrich the experiences they have at school.

Next week in school all the extra-curricular clubs start up again and we are also holding the first of our literacy workshops. This one is for KS2 children and will run on Wednesday evening from the end of the school day until 4.30pm. The idea of these workshops is for parents to join their children in carrying out activities which help improve their literacy skills. Younger siblings can attend these events although the activities will not be age appropriate for them. I hope to see many of you there.

That is all for now. Have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing you all again on Monday.

Another frantic week in school that just seems to have flown by. The highlight of the week has been the Year 3, 4, and 5 production of ‘Aladdin’. It was a brilliant production and all those who saw it said how much they enjoyed it. The children did themselves and the school proud. I would like to thank all the staff who were involved in putting this show on. It took an enormous amount of effort and time to put this mammoth production together and the end result certainly reflected all the hard work that had gone into it. They certainly deserve their Easter break.

Another high point this week was our girls’ football team who took part in ‘The Potters Bar Girls Cup Final’ last night. They match was against Wroxham girls and I am delighted to announce that we won 3-0. I would like to congratulate all the girls for their excellent performance and also thank Miss Kenwell and Mr Mills for coaching them.

All that is left for me to do now is wish you all a very good Easter break. Remember that we return to school on Tuesday, 21st April. It will be the summer term (even if the weather does not feel like it is) so children can wear summer uniform although please do not get rid of their winter uniform as we like them to wear it for their class photographs which will be on Monday, 27th April.
